Guiding lights along the coast, these timeless structures stand as symbols of endurance and solitude. This collection captures each lighthouse in its own atmosphere — from dramatic storm-light to calm twilight reflections. Lighthouse Gallery honors the history, beauty, and quiet strength found along the shore.

"View from the Lighthouse" captures a serene black-and-white scene of a sailboat in the distance, framed by the window of a lighthouse lantern room. A timeless and peaceful coastal moment.
This artistic photograph captures the iconic Bass Harbor Head Lighthouse, located within Acadia National Park in Maine. The image has been enhanced with a painterly effect, emphasizing the rugged coastal cliffs and the historic lighthouse perched atop them. The textured, cotton-like effect adds a timeless, almost ethereal quality to the scene, making it a striking representation of one of Maine's most beloved landmarks. Bass Harbor Head Lighthouse, built in 1858, continues to guide mariners along the rocky coastline, its beacon a symbol of the state's rich maritime heritage.
This photograph. Taken on 07/17/2024, captures the Marshall Point Lighthouse, famously known as the "Forrest Gump Lighthouse" due to its appearance in the movie "Forrest Gump." Located in Port Clyde, Maine, the lighthouse stands at the end of a picturesque white wooden walkway extending over rugged coastal rocks. The image is rendered with a vintage, artistic effect, enhancing the lighthouse's historical charm and the dramatic coastal landscape. The soft pastel sky adds a serene, timeless quality to the scene, making it a captivating subject for photography enthusiasts and admirers of maritime history.
"Pemaquid Point Lighthouse Color Pop" showcases the iconic Maine lighthouse with a color pop effect, highlighting the rugged orange rocks against the grayscale sky and sea. A modern take on a coastal classic.
Marshall Point Lighthouse stands proudly overlooking the rugged shores of Port Clyde, Maine. This photograph captures the iconic scene of the lighthouse, known for its long wooden walkway extending out towards the open waters. With the distant islands on the horizon and rocky coastline in the foreground, this image evokes a sense of tranquility and timeless beauty. The Marshall Point Lighthouse has served as a guiding light since 1832, and remains a symbol of the area's maritime history. Blaine Stoner’s black-and-white composition adds a dramatic, nostalgic feel, perfectly framing the lighthouse in its natural surroundings.
A weathered fence leads the way to Highland Light, Cape Cod’s oldest beacon. Standing against the sky, it tells a timeless story of strength and the sea.
The Rockland Breakwater Lighthouse in Rockland, Maine is a stunning sight, especially during the annual lighthouse opening event in September. To reach the lighthouse, visitors must traverse a man-made rocky breakwater that stretches nearly a mile. It was during one of these treks that I stumbled upon this breathtaking scene. As I climbed to the top of the lighthouse, I noticed a boat in the distance making its way towards us. Without a camera stand, I leaned over the rail and steadied my camera loaded with 35mm slide film. The ship soon came into view and crossed in front of the lighthouse, making for a truly unforgettable moment.
The Bass Harbor Lighthouse
This photograph captures a breathtaking view from the porch of the lighthouse keeper's house at Marshall Point Lighthouse, located in Port Clyde, Maine. The image is framed by the white columns of the porch, leading the viewer's eye down the wooden walkway toward the iconic lighthouse, which stands resolute at the end of a rocky shoreline. The lighthouse, famous for its appearance in the movie Forrest Gump, is a symbol of maritime heritage, offering guidance to ships navigating the rugged Maine coast. The black and white treatment of the photograph enhances the timelessness of the scene, emphasizing the contrast between the sturdy architecture and the natural beauty of the surrounding landscape.
Standing resilient against sea and time, Nubble Lighthouse rises from its rocky perch off the coast of York, Maine—an enduring symbol of New England’s maritime soul. Captured in rich monochrome, this image invites viewers to experience the drama and solitude of the coast, where jagged granite meets a sky in motion. The stark contrast between the weathered foreground and the iconic tower draws the eye inward, emphasizing both the power of nature and the quiet strength of the lighthouse itself. Every detail—from the cloud-streaked sky to the solid geometry of the structure—echoes the permanence and poise of this historic landmark. This photograph is a tribute to coastal Maine’s untamed beauty and the timeless presence of Nubble Light as it keeps its watch from the rock.
Nubble Lighthouse at Dusk" captures the serene beauty of the Nubble Lighthouse, also known as Cape Neddick Light, located in York, Maine. This image, originally a photograph, has been enhanced with an artistic flair to emphasize its picturesque setting. The lighthouse stands illuminated at dusk, with its light reflecting off the calm ocean waters and highlighting the rocky coastline. The artistic touches add depth and texture, creating a timeless and tranquil representation of this iconic New England landmark.
Bass Harbor Head Light is a historic lighthouse located within Acadia National Park in Bass Harbor, Downeast Maine. This iconic lighthouse sits perched on rugged cliffs overlooking the Atlantic Ocean, offering breathtaking views and a picturesque setting that attracts photographers and visitors year-round. The lighthouse was constructed in 1858 and continues to serve as an active aid to navigation, guiding mariners along the Maine coast. Surrounded by natural beauty, Bass Harbor Head Light is a quintessential symbol of Maine's maritime heritage and is renowned for its striking presence, especially when shrouded in the region's characteristic fog.
